POLICE HEADQUARTERS RELOCATION PROJECT

 

  Cabinet approval has been granted to build a fully pledged Police Headquarters Complex building to bring all the strategic divisions of the Sri Lanka Police to a single location with a grand outlook.

 A sum of Rs. 9.2 billion has been allocated for the Project which will be completed in 3 years.

Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau has been appointed as the Engineering Consultant to do the architectural and structural design which has been already commenced.


Project Staff headed by a Project Director has been appointed and initial preparation work is in progress.

A few locations belongs to Sri Lanka Police has been evaluated for the Project and Field Force Headquarters has been identified as the appropriate location.

Project office which was set up to execute the project activities was ceremonial declared opened at 9.22 am on 1st January 2015 by Dr Mahinda Balasuriya , the Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Order at the invitation of the Project Director Eng . Asantha Sumanarathna.

The additional Secretary Mr. K D S Ruwanchandra and all the staff of the Ministry graced the occasion.
